One thing COVID-19 and lockdown have taught us is that it’s possible to create your own fun at home. We really don’t need a lot of money or material things to be happy and have a good time with loved ones. Since this is our new normal, we need to look into ways to make the best of our time with the people we care about. That’s why we’ve come up with some fun activities you can do from home.


TikTok is a mobile app that allows you to lip-sync and create cool videos that you can share with people all around the world. It’s a great way to stay entertained and catch up with friends and relatives you may not be able to hang out with right now. TikTok will also help keep those creative juices flowing on days when you need a fun outlet.

Become a digital creator

Since you may have a bit of extra time while you’re home with friends and family, starting a podcast, YouTube channel or making live videos to address issues that matter to you might not be such a bad idea. Most people are really active on digital platforms right now, so you could make a huge difference. Start by doing a bit of research online and looking at other platforms tackling topics similar to the one you’re interested in to find out what the format is. You’ll also need to look into any free or affordable tools and resources you can use to get started.

Host an online bookclub

Another way to spend your time well, is to do some reading. Thanks to digital apps, we’re able to engage with the people we care about while social distancing. You can start a virtual bookclub to catch up with friends while discussing your current read. This is also a great way to stay on top of your Literature studies, if you’re in high school.

Virtual karaoke night

You don’t have to be a great singer to enjoy karaoke with loved ones. Since you can’t physically be in the same space as your friends to do this, you can use the AirConsole app to sing your heart out. This is a good way to unwind and have a blast with friends and family.

Fitness challenge

The lockdown has been particularly challenging for fitness fanatics who enjoy going to the gym. Luckily, there are ways to stay fit and exercise from home. One way to collaborate with other people who’re passionate about fitness is to start a fitness challenge. Each of you can pick a daily workout plan that you can do online together, and the person who finishes the most workouts first wins the fitness title for that week.
