Being an entrepreneur is difficult enough when life is as normal as we know it. But it gets even more difficult when you’re an entrepreneur who’s trying to manage and expand your business during COVID-19, which can take a toll on your mental health. Here are a few wellness tips you can use to make things a little bit more manageable.

Love your sleep

‘Money doesn’t sleep’, ‘While you’re asleep, we’re busy hustling’. These are a few of the many quotes used online and in our day-to-day lives that will probably make you feel bad about wanting to sleep more as an entrepreneur. However, sleep is just as important to your success as hard work, which is why you need a healthy amount of it. Don’t deprive your body of the rest it needs.

Show up for check ups

Seeing a healthcare professional for check ups isn’t something that you should do only when you’re feeling sick. Knowing where you stand with your health will help you understand if it’s time to slow down and make changes or if you’ve got a good routine going.

Remember it’s better to prevent yourself from things like a possible burnout, rather than have to close shop to treat it.

Take time off

Right now, most businesses and entrepreneurs are losing money, which makes them reluctant to take time off. However, taking time off is healthy ad necessary. Taking time to rest and reboot will help you be more productive in the long run. It’s also a good way to boost creativity.

Share your feelings

Being an entrepreneur means being the boss and/or leading a team, and there are a lot of unhealthy stereotypes and expectations associated with that. For example, people may expect you to show no signs of vulnerability, fear or uncertainty and this shouldn’t be the case. Keeping things bottled up will only add to your stress and make things difficult for you. Speaking to your team, a friend or another entrepreneur about your feelings and struggles will help you gain perspective and know that you’re not alone.

Establish a morning routine

Morning routines differ from person to person, but they’re definitely necessary when it comes to reducing stress and developing a calmer mindset. Doing yoga, taking a jog, practicing positive affirmations or meditation in the morning can really change your attitude and mindset, guaranteeing you a better day ahead.
