How to slay the 2019 school year

Maybe 2018 wasn’t your year, but so what? It’s nearly done, and 2019 will soon be here to stay! Here’s how you can slay the new school year.

Start early

2019 may still seem far away, and Term 1 looks like it’s even further. However, the earlier you begin getting into a routine, the faster you’ll be on the road to success! Start creating better habits during these holidays, so that by the time the school year begins, you’re already a powerhouse and ready to go.

Know your goal

Stay motivated by creating a list of all the things you’d like to achieve in the year ahead. These goals can be related to school, your career or even your personal life. Writing these down will help you keep your eyes on the prize, no matter how many of life’s distractions may come your way.

Stay organised

Getting organised is usually easy in the beginning of the year, but it’s often difficult to maintain after, like, a month or two. That’s why when it comes to getting organised, it’s best to keep it simple and find a method which works for you. The simpler and easier your organisation method is for you, the better!

Make sure you’ve got all the files and folders you need, and don’t be afraid of using colour to keep everything labeled and tidy in a fun way.

Get acquainted

If you’re scared of getting to know your teachers because you may be seen as a “teacher’s pet”, consider this- nurturing a good relationship with them early on will help you out all year. No need to bake them cookies or give them red apples- just introduce yourself on the first day of school, and show them that you’re respectful and ready to learn.

Make friends

Whether you’re in need of a study buddy or just someone to have a movie night with, friends who build you up will help you slay 2019 in every way. Make a few good friends and nurture your relationships with them - after all, you all want to grow in the New Year!

Achieving your dreams in 2019 is 100% possible. The key is to start early, think positive and always keep your eyes on the prize. Good luck!
