So your bae is in another school and you’re struggling to adjust to not seeing them as often as you want after the holiday? No worries, we’ve got a couple tips to help you maintain your relationship, even though you don’t get to see each other every day.

Communicate

You’ve got to find ways to communicate effectively with your boyfriend or girlfriend. While it’s impossible to talk all the time, you can find a schedule that suits you. Remember, communication isn’t just about talking - you need to listen and show interest in their day too.

Do fun activities outside of school

It should be super easy to find an activity that both you and bae enjoy and then take it up as a hobby outside of school. For example, if you’re into dance, then the both of you can take up dancing lessons. You both should also make an effort to do things the other may not necessarily be interested in; whether it’s sports or an activity in the arts.

Use technology

There are numerous ways to stay in touch, even if you don’t get to physically hang out. Make use of different social media and video calling apps to check in with each other as often as you’d like. This will take a bit of planning though, because you don’t want it to steal too much time from your schoolwork and/or house chores.

Have fun with friends

At the end of the day, you’re still your own person and you can have fun outside of your relationship. Spending your days preoccupied with missing your bae isn’t healthy and it’s not going to make things any easier for you, either. So make sure that you take time to laugh and have fun with your friends and family members.

The world of dating and relationships can be really tricky when you’re still in school. Although it’s fun to see your special someone every day, it’s even more exciting to catch up after a couple of weeks. Embrace the change and your independence, this could actually be a great experience for the both of you!
