Listen up hopeless romantics - school doesn’t care that love is in the air! Because we know how hard it can be to focus on your studies when you’ve been bitten by the relationship bug, here are our tips on how to keep your grades up, and still spend time with bae!
Getting organised is the best way to balance your studying with your bae. If you’re working on a project or studying for a test or exam, writing out your due dates and how much you need to do each day will help you see how much free time you have, and how much time you can spend with your significant other.
Use a calendar or a diary to plan out your study schedule for the next few weeks, and plan spending time with your S/O around that as well.
If bae wants to talk during a busy time, let them know you’re busy with schoolwork or studying. Hopefully they respect that and don’t distract you from your work- after all, caring about someone means caring about their ambitions and helping them achieve their goals, right?
If you guys are in the same grade, why not spend some time together through studying? If you’re going to do this, we recommend that you pick a good study area such as the library- juuuust so that you don’t end up distracting one another too much.
Spending time with your S/O is a great way to reward yourself after you’ve completed your work. For example, if bae is blowing up your phone with messages but you’re studying, why not tell yourself that you’ll respond once you’ve completed a chapter or two of your work?
This will help you to get it done faster, and it will teach you to prioritise your education - it will also allow you to reward yourself after working hard.
Remember that prioritising your education is really important, but it doesn’t mean you can’t spend any time with the person you’re dating. The key is getting organised, communicating and finding a balance between your studies and your significant other. Good luck!
