Being active is great for your body and mind, especially if you need a little extra help staying focused in class. Even if you don’t enjoy participating in sports to keep active, there are other fun things you can do. Here are a few.

Ride a bike

Riding your bike around the block is a fun way to keep active and fit. Remember that even though the lockdown regulations have been eased, it’s still important to take precautions against the spread of COVID-19 when you’re in public. Don’t forget to adhere to the lockdown regulations and to take the necessary hygiene and safety precautions.

Take a walk

Walking is a great way to clear your mind and get fit. Spice up your walks by taking your pet with you or by plugging in your earphones and listening to an audiobook or your fav jams. You don’t need to go too far, either, you can simply walk around your neighbourhood or in your backyard. It’s a good way to get some fresh air and sunlight, too.

Try yoga

Yoga can be pretty soothing since it’s all about deep breathing and focus, but it’s also a good way to keep fit and get your mind right. This is the perfect way to be active while dealing with stress, especially during this time. You don’t need a yoga mat or all the added extras to have fun with this - a blanket, carpet or soft grass will work just fine. You also don’t have to do it for too long - 15 to 30 minutes each day is enough, so you can do this at school and at home. Take the stairs

Using the stairs, even when you have other options to get from one floor to the next, is the perfect way to challenge yourself and keep active. You’ll probably be panting and a little tired the first few times you try this, but the more you do it, the better you’ll become at it. You can even do this at school during your break for about 10 minutes with friends and go up and down the stairs just to keep you active and awake after being seated in class for hours.

Create your own routine

Creating your own exercise routine can be a really fun thing to do to keep active. The best part about this is that you don’t have to leave your house and you can get your family involved too. You can take videos of your exercise routines to inspire someone and to help other people keep active. For some workout inspiration to get you started, have a look at these.

Many of the things you can do to keep active outside the classroom can be really fun and don’t have to cost you a cent. Physical exercise might be great with helping you stay in shape, but it’s also good for your mind and will get your concentration levels up.
