Springtime is finally here, and it brings in not only warmer, more pleasant weather but also a chance for us to begin again. Here are 5 songs that will inspire you to bloom this spring.

Beyoncé - Spirit

“The water's crashin’, trying to keep your head up high. While you're tremblin', that's when the magic happens and the stars gather by your side.”

Who better to match the warmth and strength of the new Lion King remake , other than the legendary Beyoncé? Her new song “Spirit” was inspired by Simba’s coming of age story, and everything about it will uplift you- from the lyrics to the music itself.

The message? Keep going, because even in your most turbulent moments, you’ll find a chance to overcome, and to arrive at better days.

Kesha - Praying

"I'm proud of who I am. No more monsters, I can breathe again. Sometimes, I pray for you at night, oh someday, maybe you'll see the light.”

Kesha came on the scene a few years ago with her catchy pop songs, but since then she’s gone through harassment in her industry, and an intense legal battle to win back her freedom. This has inspired a lot of her new music, one of our favourite songs of which is "Praying".

This is a song about forgiveness and moving on, despite not receiving an apology from those who’ve wronged you. It’s difficult to forgive, but remember that forgiveness means letting go, and allowing yourself to move forward to a fresh new beginning with strength and grace.

Lizzo - Water Me

“I am free, yeah yeah. Come water me, oh oh. Love you so, but if you don’t I have to leave, oh no. I don't get dehydrated, I moisturise it daily. I am my inspiration, I am my inspiration.”

When it comes to independence and knowing your worth, it’s safe to say that Lizzo is queen of teaching us how! Her song “Water Me” is all about feeling confident in your own skin and if anyone or anything happens not to appreciate your value, having the strength to leave.

Plus, we love her shout-out to moisturising. Self-care is so important after all, especially with the new season upon us!

Ariana Grande - No Tears Left to Cry

“Right now, I'm in a state of mind I wanna be in like all the time. Ain't got no tears left to cry, so I'm pickin' it up, pickin' it up.”

Ariana Grande recently had an amazing comeback, with her new outlook creating hit song after hit song. The message from her song “No Tears Left to Cry” that we can take into spring is about flourishing and coming back with a stronger attitude, leaving the past hurt and tears behind.

That state of being happy, peaceful and optimistic about the future is difficult to be in all the time, but like Ariana says, she chooses to be happy - and the more you choose to cultivate that positivity in your life, the more you’ll have.

Lady Gaga - Born This Way

“Don't hide yourself in regret, just love yourself and you're set. I'm on the right track, baby- I was born this way.”

This is an older track but it’s still such a bop. Lady Gaga released "Born This Way” in 2011, and it instantly became an inspiring track for millions of people who felt like imperfect outsiders.

So put on this song and dance away, knowing that now is the time to leave regrets behind, to move on from your past and trust yourself as well as your journey. You were born beautiful and strong enough to take on anything life throws your way.
