Moving from being a high school junior to a senior means that you’re stepping up in your high school career, you’re passing and progressing. Soon enough you’ll be out of high school and making some important varsity and/or career choices. That’s definitely something to be excited about. That, and the fact that it means that you’re growing not only as a high schooler, but as an individual.
You can be an inspiration
There are going to be expectations associated with being a senior, but this doesn’t have to be a bad thing at all. All this means is that you can challenge yourself to become a better person by making the right and responsible decisions to inspire your peers and the juniors in your school.
Everyone deserves to be respected, regardless of age or the grade that they’re in, but even with that said, expect a different level of respect in your senior year. Your teachers might stop babying you as much as they used to because they respect and understand that you’re now at the age where you can prioritise your studies. Being considered a senior means there might be a spotlight and a whole lot of accountability directed at you- and that’s a great opportunity if you use it right.
You get perks
Who doesn’t enjoy a few perks now and again? This may depend on the rules of your school, but being a senior can have some great perks. Some of which may seem small, but they definitely add some level of exclusivity to your high school career. Like a different tuck shop queue from the juniors, more lit and educational excursions, socials that are exclusively for seniors and lots more.
