With all the free time you have now that you’re on holiday, some days may feel super boring. Here are 5 awesomely healthy habits you can pick up while you’re on break.
Find a hobby to enjoy
Having a hobby is awesome for many reasons, and it’s the perfect habit to get into when you’ve got more free time (such as during holiday season). If you’re creative, try getting into art, music or dance. If you’re a tech lover, then programming or coding could be more your style. Whatever you’re into, take some time to do it every day- you’ll quickly see how many doors this opens up for you, and how fun it can be!
Feeling lonely and misunderstood is normal, but sometimes we make it worse if we close ourselves off and don’t go out to meet new people. Put in some time over your break to get out there and socialise! If you’re interested in a sport or other hobby, see what clubs are in your community which you could join and meet like-minded people in.
Whether it’s a jog around your area, or some simple exercises at home in the morning, there are so many ways to exercise. We often make excuses for not moving around, and the main excuse is usually that we “don’t have time”. Make use of your free time during the holidays by getting more active- your body and mind will thank you for it!
Drink more water
Drinking more water is especially important in summer, since the last thing you want is to get dehydrated while you’re out and about. However, drinking water is always a good habit to have, and one of the easier ones to get into. If you find the taste of water too boring, try adding a slice of lemon, cucumber or strawberry for a refreshing twist!
Take time to relax
Holidays are the time to kick back and relax, but they don’t need to be the only time you take a deep breath and have a moment to yourself. In fact, taking half an hour daily to meditate, read, do yoga or anything else that chills you out is a good habit to take into the school year. Remember that your mental health and relaxation deserve your focus every day.
